Mo-Ranch staff volunteers traveled on Tuesday, June 2 to assist with cleanup efforts from recent flood damage to John Knox Ranch. Located on the banks of the Blanco River in Fischer, Texas, John Knox Ranch is a camp, conference, and retreat center related by covenant to Mission Presbytery and the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).

On Saturday evening, May 23, 2015, the Central Texas/Hill County area around Wimberley and Blanco received a huge amount of rain, causing extensive and record-breaking flooding. John Knox Ranch was not exempt from the damage. Their Dining Hall was demolished to the point of being irreparable. Other damages included their meeting house, pool pump house, significant water damage, debris all the way down to their chapel steps, and much more.

Twenty-one Mo-Ranch staff volunteers assisted with cleanup efforts in the John Knox Ranch dining hall, debris cleanup from cabin grounds, and the construction of a new archery storage unit. At the end of the day, volunteers proudly presented the Executive Director of John Knox Ranch with a donation check totaling over $7,500 to assist with their rebuilding campaign efforts. Donations were contributed by a staff fund and the 2015 Mo-Ranch Women’s Conference offering.

John Knox Ranch Summer Camp programs will continue and are just around the corner beginning on Monday, June 10.

Visit their website for more information about how you can help with volunteer efforts or in other ways. Donations are being accepted online at www.JKRSummer2015.myevent.com.
